Members of Gemunu Watch Ex Servicemen Regimental Association in the Uva Province assembled at the Uva Camp Diyatalawa, the Home of the Ist Battalion Gemunu Watch on 22nd June 2009 to establish the Uva Provincial Branch under the patronage of the Hon President of the GWESRA Major General KB Egodawele RWP RSP VSV USP (Rted).The programme commenced with the religious observances at the Battalion Shrine Room. Members paid floral tributes to the father of the Gemunu Watch Late Brig JF Halangoda and the members of Gemunu Watch those who have died and all the servicemen who laid down their lives to uphold the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our Motherland at the 1GW monument. After a traditional tea party hosted by the I GW the meeting commenced in the 1GW Lecture Hall. At the meeting office bearers were duely elected. Major (QM) HM.Wimalaratna was elected as the President of the Provincial Branch.
