Annual General Meeting of the GWESRA was held on 15 March 2009 at the Gemunu Regimental Centre Kuruvita with the participation of a large number of members of the association. The members were received by the staff of the Regimental Centre at the entrance to the Kuruvta camp  and were conducted in procession to the Regimental Rana Viru Memorial where a wreath laying ceremony was conducted in memory of the gallant servicemen those who paid the supreme sacrifice in the fight against terrorism and in the defence of our motherland. The general meeting commenced immediately after the memorial ceremony and lasted for nearly four hours. At the meeting the present office bearers were elected unanimously for another term. After the meeting the members were
hosted to lunch at the poolside.
